Apple pye! (10 - 12 portions)

Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 6 egg yolks

  • 2 and 1/2 cups of unprepared flour

  • 1/2 cup of white sugar

  • 150g butter

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla

  • 2 teaspoons of salt

For the filling:

  • 4 cups of sliced apple

  • 200g of sugar

  • Roasted pecans

  • Ground cinnamon

For the end:

  • 1 egg yolks

  • Milk cream

Steps

  • In a food processor, mix the egg yolks, runprepared flour, white sugar, butter, vanilla and salt (ingredients for the dough).

  • Divide the mixture in two.

  • Place both pieces in the refrigerator with "film" paper. Let it rest overnight (around 10 hours).

  • After time, sauté the chopped apples, sugar, pecans and ground cinnamon (ingredients for the filling).

  • Butter a circular mold approximately 30cm in diameter.

  • Remove the dough from the refrigerator. Place flour on a base and on top, roll out one of the two pieces of dough with a rolling pin). Place it on the mold.

  • With the dough on the mold, put the filling (chopped apples, sautéed in sugar, pecans and cinnamon).

  • Roll out the other half of the dough, and cut it into 1.5 cm wide strips. Place the strips on top of the filling, intertwining them.

  • Paint the dough strips with an egg yolk and heavy cream.

  • Bake the pye in a preheated oven at 180 ° C. Bake time: 30 minutes.
